Co-Director Info Session #1

Feb 23 2017 - 6:00pm

Do you want to become saturated in appropriate technology, put your skills to the task of managing a non-profit, make valuable connections, grow as a leader, and experience communal living, all while living in one of the coolest houses in Arcata?

Apply to be one of three Co-Directors at CCAT: the Campus Center for Appropriate Technology!

This is a live-in learning center that teaches and promotes Sustainability in many forms. This is an exchange opportunity: you put in 40hrs of work each week in exchange for living in the house. All Co-Directors serve one-year terms.

CCAT is an amazing opportunity for anybody interested in leadership and sustainability; very few other organizations will give college students this special of an opportunity to manage and run a well-funded organization employing 15-20 students.

Applications are due March 17th at 11:59pm.

The application can be found here

CCAT Presents: The Power of Community

Feb 13 2017 - 6:30pm

When the Soviet Union fell in the early 90's Cuba lost almost half of its oil imports. Blackouts, three-hour bus waits, and food shortages threated to destroy the nation! Watch how urban gardening, subsidized bicycle programs, and investments in off-grid solar panels helped strengthen this small island nation where resources are especially finite. Join us to watch and discuss how these tactics can be used in our community, both now and in the future.
