Description

CCAT co-directors engage in many activities that will provide them with experience and knowledge on how to run non-profit type organizations. Some of these activities include: interpreting the mission of the program, making fundamental decisions of policy, setting annual goals, writing and executing budgets, supervising staff, volunteers and students, representing the organization within the University and the larger community, and doing the dishes at the end of the day.

 

Job Requirements

Strong leadership skills, conflict resolution, good teamwork, intelligent time management, flexibility, a desire to learn, an interest in appropriate technology and dedication are sought.

Co-directors are responsible for maintaining CCAT's household and physical site, teaching CCAT courses, facilitate meetings with staff, the Steering Committee and the University. They also organize outreach and annual events, manage CCAT budget, staff, and courses involved with student projects at CCAT.

Co-directors serve one-year terms, beginning either in June or January, live at the CCAT house rent free. The job itself is full time, with some flexible hours, but it is recommended that only two to three academic courses are taken in conjunction with a co-directorship.

Co-Director Pre-interview Questionnaire

 

1. Give a brief summary of your involvement with CCAT.

2. List what kinds of technical skills do you have in the following areas: computers, budgeting, hands-on, equipment use, etc.

3. CCAT usually takes up at least 40 hours a week. We want to know what kind of commitment you can make to the program.

a) What is your anticipated course load?

b) Do you plan on holding an outside job? If so, what kind of position?

c) What extra curricular activities are you involved in?

d) What are your plans for the summer?

4. Are there any other commitments or conditions that would prevent you from fulfilling your one-year directorship?

5. What would you like to focus on during your co-directorship? What do you want to learn?

6. Is this the last time you can apply for Co-Director? (i.e. are you graduating/moving?)
